TECHNICAL SHEET ACACIA DECKING

Product name: Acacia finger jointed from the species robinia pseudoacacia

Technical description

- botanical name: Robinia pseudoacacia

– Durability class according to DIN EN 350-2; Class 1 – 2

– Wood humidity 14% +/- 2%

– Weight (at humidity of 12..16%) = 790 kg/m3

– Static finger jointed, joints length 15 mm, pitch 3.8 mm, free space at joints tip 0.2 – 0.5 mm

bonding with C4 class adhesive, for products used outdoors, resistant to humidity and extreme temperatures.

Production and testing based on DIN 68140, DIN EN 385;2001, EN 408.

Standard value of breaking force by bending > 42 N/mm2

- the length of the glued elements is 200 - 900 mm long, and the position of the growth rings in the semi-finished products used is NOT taken into consideration.

Quality description:

The visible part has "A" quality which means:

– Clean planed surface

– Maximum 1 healthy knot ≤ 15 mm per linear meter

– Maximum 1 black knot ≤ 5 mm per linear meter

– There may be black veins inside the wood which are minerals typical of acacia. These are allowed, they do not affect the strength and durability of the wood.

– Planing tears (pinches) ≤ 1.5 mm are allowed

- typical wood color differences of the joint parts in the teeth are allowed.

– Sapwood is not allowed

– The heart of the wood is not allowed, therefore we will not have or there may be a very small proportion of juvenile wood.

– The invisible part (the back) has the "C" quality, which implies:

– not for visible use

– at least planed 70%,

– occasional patches of sapwood are allowed

– Defects that do not affect strength and durability are allowed.

– Heartwood is not allowed, therefore we will have no or very little proportion of juvenile wood.

Description of the quality of the elements of underconstruction

– Not for visible use!

– In general, the planed surface is clean, occasionally unplaned areas are possible

– Defects that do not affect resistance are allowed

- typical wood color differences of the joint parts in the teeth are allowed

– Sapwood is allowed

– The heart of the wood is not allowed, therefore we do not have juvenile wood

– A slight longitudinal curvature during storage may occur and must be accepted.
